How it works

Creating your design

Theme: Pathways to the Future

Be creative! What does the future look like to you? Medical advances? New methods for agriculture? Cool forms of transportation? New styles of art? The options are limitless.

Note: Please refrain from choosing a design that is political in nature. The point of this event is to celebrate art, so please focus on the composition and not making a statement.

  • You have between 8am and 4pm on Saturday, November 5th to complete your work
  • All chalk must be put down at 4pm. The results will be at announced at 5pm.
  • All designs must be original and relate to the theme. Designs will be judged based on relevance to the theme "Pathways to the Future."
  • Logos, forms of advertisements, or words of any kind in artwork are prohibited
  • Designs that are discriminatory, divisive, or disrespectful to any person are not allowed. This event is designed to be fun and to bring the community together, not tear us apart.
  • Participants will be provided with a 3x3 board, a table on which to put it while drawing, and a box of chalk to create their design.
  • Assess your artwork as to the colors you need and bring extra chalk as we will provide ONLY 1 (one) box of mixed chalk.
  • Radios or speakers are not allowed.
  • Only two chairs allowed per board (artists/guardian).
  • You may bring a card table to place your board on, as well as a tent (not to exceed 10x10 in size).
  • At least one parent or guardian must be present with competitors under 13 years of age for the duration of time that they are drawing.
